CD Coffelt lives outside Maryville, Missouri with a bemused husband and way too many cats. She adores all things fantasy with a special love for urban and epic.
"With a passion for good writing and Doritos as companions, locating Middle-Earth on a dusty road in rural Missouri wasn't difficult. All it took was a little Magic, hours of reading, and an overactive imagination."

Out of Magic is CD Coffelt's first book, published in 2014 by Shamira Publishing. It is the prequel, in Kindle format, to the author's Wilder Mage novels. Sable Rounds, age 17, starts the fantastical journey by "speaking to a whirlwind." The author's first Kindle book has received good reviews. "Can't wait for the next one," and "enchanting fantasy" are just some of the comments folks have made. Despite being 31 pages long, they're an important 31 pages as they introduce the main character and prepare readers for what's to come.
Fans of CD Coffelt's first book didn't have too long to wait until the second arrived in March of 2015. Wilder Mage, The Magic Withheld (Book 1), at 318 pages, is a more in-depth journey into the world of Sable Rounds and those like her who possess wondrous powers we mere humans can only fantasize about. Running true to form, readers have found Wilder Mage to be a story "beautifully crafted," "very entertaining, a good read," and "unique, entrancing, gripping."
Mage Revealed, Book 2 in The Magic Withheld series has been well received by Coffelt's readers. A deeper understanding of characters was acknowledged by one reviewer. Another reviewer states that it has "superb writing and interesting characters." And yet another is anxious to see where Coffelt will take the characters next. "I want the next book. I hate waiting to see what will happen." CD Coffelt has a bit of problem - she may not be able to write these fast enough to keep pace with the interest of her readers.
Bedside Table Reviews sums it up. "The conflict slowly builds, drawing you in deeper and deeper into the world of hidden magic. Questions are answered and more posed. There is joy and rebirth, heartbreak and desperation, twists and turns. In the end my mind was reeling."
